If you can't decide on an Entrepreneur to research, take some time and think about interesting products/services/companies that you know of. Find the products/services/companies owners and creators then research them for this assignment. Your Entrepreneur does not have to be a modern day business person. You can pick any Entrepreneur through out history. During class today please type an one-page summarization of your research, using a Google Doc or Microsoft Word document. You do not have to cite your resources. Below is what your work should include: 1.) Biographical Information - interesting facts about your Entrepreneurs life 2.) What were the risks - types of obstacles that they encountered professionally and personally 3.) What were the rewards - how is society better because of their ideas? Today you are going to take an Entrepreneur aptitude test. Below is the think to Heart, Smarts, Guts and Luck - it is a New York Times Best Seller book which dives into the world of Entrepreneurship and discovers what type of characteristics are needed to be a successful Entrepreneur. The test asks questions as if you are already working in the business world, just answer all the questions the best you can. Some of the questions are about yourself, such as education level, and what type of work history you have - just answer the best you can. If something doesn't pertain to you, choose the next best answer. If you don't know what a word means, take the time and look up the word.
At the end of the test, you receive results - it explains whether you make decisions using your heart, your smarts, your gut or your luck. The results are detailed and pretty neat to read. So take your the time on the survey. When you are done with the survey please post to our blog and summarize your results. Share with everyone what type of Entrepreneur you will be! In addition, post about what YOU think makes a successful Entrepreneur. What type of characteristics do you think creates successful Entrepreneurs? Give an example of a specific Entrepreneur that you respect and admirer who holds those specific characteristics. Take some time and read the article above. After participating in the Stock Market Game, you have now experienced what it feels like to be a stock trader! In this blog posting, reflect upon the stock market game that we just played. What was difficult? What was easy? Did you enjoy the game? What didn't you like about the game? Also, how do you feel about the new stock App? How does it benefit new traders like yourself? In The Profit, we saw first hand a struggling toy business that was losing money every year. Marcus had some great ideas to revamp and get the business back on track, to hopefully make a profit. In this blog posting, please put yourself in the shoes of the owner's at SkullDuggery. First, explain what you would do differently before Marcus came to the rescue. Second, what would you do differently after Marcus gave you his advice? If nothing, please explain your reasoning of why you would have done the same as the owners. After you complete the blog posting, perform a quick search of SkullDuggery. Are they still profitable?!?!
